Serving in Thailand, Asia Pacific

I grew up as an MK in the Philippines and am a Children’s Ministry grad from CFNI and SAGU (2002). While attending an MK retreat my first semester in college, the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to my heart: “I’m calling you to Thailand.  From there you will minister to the children of the world.”

God began to clarify that call a few years later when the missionary pastor of International Christian Assembly (ICA) - Bangkok contacted me about their need for a Children’s Pastor. It was the first I had heard of this church whose congregation was made up of families from over 30 nations. Suddenly, God’s call to Thailand AND the “children of the world” began to fall into place!

From September 2007 to January 2019, I served as the first Children’s Pastor of ICA-Bangkok. During that time, I focused on recruiting and training workers to serve in four age levels of Children’s Ministry – nursery, toddler, preschool and elementary. It was a great joy to minister each week to the “children of the world” through ICA-Bangkok!

Because the majority of those I worked with came from nations where there is little training or understanding of Children’s Ministry, I developed Quarterly Trainings to help equip workers and parents in discipling children. Not only were these volunteers a great blessing to our ICA KiDS ministry, but once they returned to their home countries, they are also equipped to reach children in their own nations!

Prior to heading to the US for my 2018 furlough, I concentrated on developing department leaders for each age group. This now makes it possible for me to begin responding to new ministry invitations!  Throughout 2019, God has been expanding the fulfillment of His call on my life by giving me the wonderful opportunity to work with additional international churches (ICs) across the Asia Pacific region!

In addition to serving with one of our other ICs in Bangkok, Romyen International Church (RIC), I have been responding to invitations from other ICs in Asia Pacific to help them evaluate and strengthen their ministry to international children. The first opportunity was in working with the Children’s Ministry workers at ICA-Phnom Penh, Cambodia (February and July). In May, I was in Indonesia working with two international churches there, including speaking for an the kids at an IC family camp.

Additionally, I serve as a member of the Core Team that conducts the Asia Pacific Children’s Ministry Institute (CMI). CMI is an intensive 2-week training for national Christian Education Directors and key leaders doing Children’s Ministry across Asia Pacific. Those we train return to their home nations to train others in both the Biblical foundation and the practics of reaching and discipling children.

I began serving in Thailand as a Missionary Associate (MA). During that time I completed formal Thai language studies and I was Ordained at District Council in 2009. In June 2013, I was commissioned as a PenFlorida Appointed Missionary.
