Planting the Church Among the Secular Peoples of Seville, Spain
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Mason Large. I am from Salem, Oregon. I went to school at Evangel University, studying Spanish and Missions.
Growing up I have always wanted God to lead my life. When I finished high school, God had led me to study Spanish. Not knowing why, I followed; a year later, in 2018, God called me to Missions and put Spain on my heart.
After graduating, God called me to serve in Seville, Spain under Missionaries Tristan and Jackie Cross. After serving for three months, I felt strongly that God was calling me to serve in Spain for longer. After talking this over with Tristan and Jackie, we all felt that this was God’s next step in my life. That is why I am going back to serve with them once more for a longer term as a Missionary Associate.
Why Spain?
Spain is a spiritual desert. With only 1% claiming to have a relationship with Jesus, most don’t have anyone in their life that can explain the gospel. This lack of access is why it is crucial to have boots on the ground and why I am going.
The secular worldview is one of the reasons for this. Secularism says that the self is the center and ultimate authority of ones life.
In my time there I have seen God moving in the people of Seville, softening their hearts to hear the Gospel. I desire to see God continue to move among the people of Spain.
