Our Story:
Since 2017, Kayla and Erik have served with AGWM as part of the Urban Tribes church planting team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They poured their hearts into reaching, discipling, and launching men and women into their God-given spheres of influence. In their final year, they stepped into interim co-lead pastor roles, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to new leadership in October 2024.
Erik and Kayla’s call to ministry predates their work with AGWM. Erik served as a youth director, and Kayla was on the mission board at their home church. They also both have extensive experience in the workplace, where they continued to serve faithfully in various ministry roles.
Ministry:
Following their dedicated service in Ethiopia, Erik and Kayla carry a deep passion for the Gospel and a desire to see all people understand their purpose in God’s plan. Over the last few years the Ivorian Assemblies of God and AGWM have been seeking passionate leaders to establish an international church in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This is a strategic effort to reach the “gatekeepers” – the men and women shaping the culture of Abidjan in business, arts, education, and religion. After a year and a half of prayer and a simultaneous confirmation in their hearts, Kayla and Erik have answered this call to lead this team and church.
By reaching these leaders, this church plant will not only help bring Kingdom transformation to Abidjan, but also create a powerful avenue to reach an influential unreached people group. As these individuals encounter Jesus, they will become catalysts of Kingdom transformation within Arab communities across West Africa and beyond.
