My name is Karen Johnson, and I am currently raising funds to serve in Barcelona, Spain! I will be working with the International Church of Barcelona, and their young adult ministry, called Awaken.

Though originally from Texas, I grew up on the mission field in Kenya; my family moved there when I was 4, and I moved back to the States when I was 18. I attended Vanguard University for 1 year, and after that I moved to Southwest Florida to attend a Leadership Academy at one of our supporting churches.

After living in Fort Myers for 4 years, I felt the Lord impress on me to intern for 6 months at ICB with the Carranos, who I’ve known since I was 11. We have the answers for people who have no hope and no idea where to find it.

I will be going out as a Missionary Associate for 2 years to work with Awaken, and I cannot wait to see how God restores hope and light to the people of Barcelona! I can't wait to be back in the city I love! Please be in prayer for me as I get ready to head out on the mission field!
