Bob & Barb Van Wyk have served as missionaries in Botswana since 2010. They are presently in the process of transferring to Mokopane, South Africa. They will be editing Gospel Evangelistic Ministry in the Schools (GEMS), a program that brings the Gospel into the public primary schools of Botswana, and making it relevant for other nations in Africa and the United States. GEMS has been very successful as school principals report significant decreases in behavioral problems and increases in student test scores. 

Additionally Bob & Barb will train people in different nations to present GEMS and expand the three-year curriculum by developing an after-school program to accompany each lesson. They will be making it age-appropriate for pre-school children and adapt it for for teens. This material will be beta tested initially with Blessman International, an independent mission located in Mokopane, that supports almost 400 pre-schools in South Africa. Therefore the new curriculum will be "field tested" before it goes to other nations and regions.

Bob and Barb have three grown children and one granddaughter. Austin is married to Jaime, who just gave birth to Sierra in November of '25. Austin is a full-time firefighter and paramedic. Jaime was just promoted to be a stay-at-home mom.. Stephanie married Nathan Wileman in December of '25.Stephanie works for a grant writing company and Nathan works for an agriculture company. Cameron is pursuing his masters in psychology having graduated with his bachelors degree from Nelson University.
